Today is my boss's birthday. I have worked with men for 32 years and I never thought I would want to work with all women. But my Boss is a great influence on me. We have a very cohesive unit and Marion is a strong presence, but not an overwhelming one. She lets us do our jobs, make suggestions and run with a project. And she always dresses very hip! I have been working at Past Era Antique Jewelry for 2 1/2 years and have not only become friends with my co-workers, but with many of our clients. The clients continue to frequent Past Era because of Marion's chipper personality and fair dealings. Here's a short description of Marion's store....and her passion.....PastEra.com.
Past Era is the product of Marion’s life-long love of antique jewelry. The daughter of London jewelers, she has had intimate experience with antique jewelry from a very young age and carries on her parents’ tradition of quality and expertise. Marion founded her successful shop in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1973 after years of training in England and the United States. After 20 years as Honolulu’s top antique jewelry dealer, Marion moved to Houston, Texas in 1993, where Past Era has continued to attract customers worldwide. As a long-standing member of the Houston Antique Dealer’s Association (HADA), Marion also has a strong presence in the antique community. She has appeared on the radio and television and lectures extensively on antique jewelry; museums and collectors worldwide seek her expertise.
Past Era Antique Jewelry is famous for its exceptional collection of exquisite pieces from the 17th through 20th centuries, many of which are discovered in Europe. Marion looks for high-quality pieces of remarkable beauty, value and authenticity. Past Era enjoys the reputation of consistently having an inventory of prime pieces from each period. Backed by generations of knowledge and experience, Past Era is considered one of the country’s finest antique jewelry dealers.
So, I want to wish Marion a very Happy Birthday and a wonderful year ahead. I cherish her as a Boss, a Friend and most of all, a Confidant. (And I love her English accent)
