Secrets of Adulthood (At Last)
The best reading is re-reading. (I love rereading the series "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldan, To Kill A Mockingbird, Chapter 9 of http://www.amazon.com/Twenty-Five-Yards-War-ofExtraordinarycourageofmeninworldwarII %20by Ronald Diez (featuring my DAD) and The Bible)
Outer order contributes to inner calm. (Ok, ok, I am working on cleaning all of the closets)
The opposite of a great truth is also true. (I don't get this one)
You manage what you measure. (Please explain)
By doing a little bit each day, you can get a lot accomplished. (Clean three drawers each day, or 3 shelfs)
People don’t notice your mistakes and flaws as much as you think. (I am my own worst enemy)
It's nice to have plenty of money. (When I have $100 in my wallet, I am joyful and I spend less)
Most decisions don't require extensive research. (JKH, read carefully, my fast shopping ability has yielded SOME mistakes and taken no time)
Try not to let yourself get too hungry. (No problem, my trainer has me eating every 3 hours)
Even if you think they're fake, it's nice to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day. (You never know how much you will hate these holidays when your mom and dad are gone; seize the days)
If you can't find something, clean up. (Duh!)
The days are long, but the years are short. (We only have 6 months left of this year and it was just New Year's Day)
Someplace, keep an empty shelf. (Hasn't happened yet)
Turning the computer on and off a few times often fixes a glitch. (Amen)
It's okay to ask for help. (Everyday, anytime)
You can choose what you do; you can't choose what you LIKE to do. (Reading, Movies, Needlepointing, Playing Cards, Writing Blogs)
Happiness doesn't always make you feel happy. (Its a state of being)
What you do EVERY DAY matters more than what you do ONCE IN A WHILE. (I work at a place that really makes me happy...I love what I do ......http://www.pastera.com/
You don't have to be good at everything. (But I try....ha!)
Soap and water removes most stains. (I envy people that can get every stain out, but Louise's housekeeper in Rio did. I use to save my stain problems for visits to Brazil)
It's important to be nice to EVERYONE. (I agree 1000%, but it is hard sometimes, ok, a lot of times)
You know as much as most people. (WMC, FJH, CBW? I doubt it)
Over-the-counter medicines are very effective. (I hate medicine and doctor visits so this is a great thing for me)
Eat better, eat less, exercise more. (Double Dah!)
What's fun for other people may not be fun for you--and vice versa. (Eating in a restaurant, no....spending hours in a show, yes....sitting in a parked car reading, yes, yes!)
People actually prefer that you buy wedding gifts off their registry. (I don't, I like to buy people something I would love and I am afraid that is not going to change.)
Houseplants and photo albums are a lot of trouble. (Isn't this a universal truth?_
If you're not failing, you're not trying hard enough. (It's hard, but it's true)
No deposit, no return. (Possibly the greatest truth I have learned, if it is too good to be true, it isn't)
