As I was reading the "rules of thumb" mentioned by Gretchen Rubin http://www.happiness-project.com/happiness_project/2010/07/reconsider-the-rules-of-thumb-you-use-in-everyday-life.html in her Happiness Project Blog, I started to think about what mine were. These come to mind:
1. If you buy a new pair of shoes, you have to give up a pair to Charity (the same goes for purses and clothes); (keeps your closet uncluttered and helps others)
2. If it's too good to be true, it isn't (learned that the hard way);
3. My impulses are often good ones;
4. I am a very lucky girl;
5. What would Mom and Dad think of this?;
6. Do what is right and good in the Lord's sight, so that it may go well with you (Deuteronomy 6:18a and my favorite Bible verse and it is SO true);
7. If you don't ask for it, you won't get it; (a good deal on a sale, a raise, something free)
8. Eating right is 80% of looking good; exercise is the other 20% (but I feel so much better exercising);
9. Be nice to others and it will make you feel good; (at least once a day)
10. Its just as easy to marry rich as to marry poor (notice I am single);
