THAT VISION THING......

NO, I don't have the board done yet. I am doing research. I am reading an article in O Magazine by Martha Beck regarding advice on making your board. She says "Consciousness can shape reality and the mind influences physical matter". I know this to be true. I wanted a sea grass rug for my living room and put a picture on my vision board and forgot about it (or couldn't see it in all the mess). (Please see previous blog) About three weeks later, the rug dealer at the Antique Pavilion asked me if I wanted a rug he had in his car. Yes, you guessed it, it was a sea grass rug. Not in perfect condition (which is why I was getting it free) but good enough for me.

The most important aspect of a vision board is that it should come from your heart. Martha Beck says "Don't put up a wad of cash, a handsome husband, a tropical beach, etc., etc. " Put up things that visually excite you. Beck says, "the board itself doesn't impact reality, what changes your life is the process of creating images --combinations of objects and events that will stick in your subconscious mind and steer your choices toward making the vision real". Hmm, I will have to think about that one. I think that a vision board helps you attract into your life things that you want to have, to experience, to achieve or to become.

The 2nd Step according to Beck is "Let go mentally and emotionally". Forget about it. Its in your subconscious mind and will happen (well maybe).

I love the words of John Assaraf, who says "A Vision Board helps you dream and reminds you that without a dream, you get only what life throws at you; with a dream, anything is possible."
This will be my guideline for my vision board.
