MY FRIEND LOUISE

I have a friend that is the third child in her family .......of 17 kids.  I met her when I was a sophomore in college at USL-Lafayette (go Rajun Cajuns) and I thought she was completely normal.  41 years later, she is still my most normal, wonderful, generous friend.  She always has a smile on her face.

We lost touch after I moved to Houston but one day she was passing through on her way to Dallas to interview for a job and I hooked her up with my good friend Win Campbell and after all these years she is still there.  She left for a while, (her husband was transferred out of the country for 3 or 4 years) but she's back and everyone is so happy.

Brenda, Louise and I once went on a vacation to Florida together.  Now Louise's idea of fun is walking for 8-10 miles on the Beach.  The first day I went with her and then I had had enough (after 6 hours of walking).  Brenda went bicycling with Louise the second day and they went 30 miles down the Highway.  Louise came back smiling and Brenda was gasping for breath.  It seems Louise wanted to ride on the Highway between Destin and Rosemary Beach and the 18 wheelers were blowing them off the highway....After that Louise was on her own.

Louise was born on the 4th of July and we celebrated her birthday last night at my home. Food was great, carrot cake even better, and the hit of the evening were the Peach Fuzzbusters. Recipe: One large can of pink lemonade, fill up the can with vodka, 1 cup of ice and 3 peaches (fuzz, skin and everything but the pit). Put the mixture in a blender and freeze it. Take the delicious summer drink out 2 hours before serving. Watch it, they catch up with you!
