Is there any greater moment than when you receive a thank you note? Not emailed, not over the telephone, but written in the mail. As you know (or maybe you don't) I have 19 godchildren. They all know the rule. No thank you note for your birthday present, no Christmas present and so on. (Quite a few of them are off the list.) If they only knew how happy a written thank you note makes you feel. I have a group of friends that get together on Monday evenings (all right, we used to watch the Bachelor/bachelorette until we couldn't stand the foolishness any more). One of us cooks each Monday. Leslie and Robbie always write a thank you note for the evening if you are hosting....It just makes me feel great to get those notes in the mail.
This summer I returned to Destin, Fl with the B's. One day I took 5 year old Benjamin (oldest son of my oldest female godchild, Beth) to the show and to the Bear Store. I loved the show which we watched with 3D glasses and then when we left, we took pictures in a photo booth and came upon the Bear Store. He wanted the bear with the Darth Vador outfit and knew just how to stuff it, clean it, and polish it off. It was a great experience.....but the best thing ever was the thank you note that his Mom and he wrote to me. It warms my heart.
