It is safe to say, after I took down the miscellanous visions, that I had to start with my Vision of the Perfect Trip, Paris. Shown here are the Eiffle Tower and the view of Ile St. Louie, one of two islands in the middle of the Seine. Paris, to me, is everything. I love the people, I love the walking, I love the shops and I especially love to visit the old homes that have been turned into museums.
My number one favorite is the apartment of Napoleon III which is in the Louvre. Most people miss this, but believe me, it is a must on your next trip.
Add to that the Musee Nissim de Camondo http://www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr/ 63Rue de Monceau Paris 8th Tel 01 53 89 06 50 Metro stop is Villiers, Monceau open 10 am-5:30 pm closed on Monday and Tuesday. It is a private mansion built from 1910-1914, 18th century atmosphere, a collector’s point of view : furniture, objects d’art, painting, tapestries, china, silverware, everyday life of an individual home in the early years of the 20th century. SPECTACULAR.
While in the area, go to Parc Monceau which is a beautiful place to walk and to observe the French people…..it is a site to behold. It is one of the oldest parks in Paris and you can sit and watch the nannys push the baby carriages. My apartment that I rent is near here and I love to walk here everyday and read for an hour or two.
